June, lovely June, full of... rain... :)
Well, my life seems rather boring now that I'm not overseas…
But I thought I would send out an update anyhow. I'm enjoying my job at Highlands Community Church. It's fun to work somewhere that you have worked before, know the people, and know the work. I also get to work at putting on Missions Fest in Seattle which is great because I really enjoy spreading news about missions.
I am also working on my very first (and likely only) quilt. Don't get me wrong, but the tediousness of all the lines and angles and the necessity of getting everything straight isn't my specialty. I figured it would be nice to have something familiar like that when I move to Africa. I'll post a picture when I am done.
So far I am just over halfway with my financial support raising!! I have even begun posting pictures showing the count-down to full support and will continue- it's exciting! I know I am still a ways away, but I'm hoping to have full support and to leave the beginning of September.
I have been making a concerted effort to take pictures of everyone I visit with since it has been over a year (while I was in the Philippines) and once I leave for Zambia it will be a lot longer until we see one another face to face again. (Except for those who visit me… ;) And I'm making a trail of pictures on my blog under "Zambia with a View" of those I visit over these next few months before I leave, so remind me when we are together to get a picture!
Other than that I'm just doing all the routine things of life. I'd love to see all of you or hear how you are, so let me know what you are up to and when you are available!
