The latest from Sinazongwe

Hi all,

Guess what? Sinazongwe has had such bad flooding this past month we even made the news! Our friends in Lusaka kept calling to ask how we were holding up and if we needed rescuing (literally). Luckily, we didn’t, but we were stuck at home and weren’t even sure we’d make it down our dirt road and back for about a week and a half. This news is for a broader audience, but the first article refers to the Zambezi Valley- where we are. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7171379.stm, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7184431.stm, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7193527.stm.

I wanted to let you know that in the time I've spent in Lusaka over a few weeks in December and this month I have been back-blogging. Now, this may be a new term for some of you. I have found making up words to be quite convenient as Susan and Mr. Motorcycle and I have been all alone in the bush for the better part of six weeks without a dictionary. We play Scrabble fairly often, and neither are good spellers. :) Anyhow, back-blogging would refer to recording the past in a blog... as opposed to the present. Just one more way I am adapting to life in the bush!

I have also had to switch picture providers as of December and have moved pictures up to August, so please feel free to enjoy the back-logging of pictures as well.

Sometimes I miss efficiency!

Thanks so much and God bless!

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

This is Wescott and Brianne. We are sharing some raisen bran on a saturday morning and looked at your blog together for a few minutes. Brianne said 'loves babies' when we talked about what you are doing there. Have a great day and I'm sure you and Heather will talk soon!
